New news.......

Alright so here we are on Thursday August 27th........

We had another cervical scan on Wed and things were the same still sitting at 1.40cm, however the doctors want to monitor me closer. They are giving me one more week at home then ad mitting me back into the hospital, when they admit me I will be 23 weeks and 3 days. Our goal is to keep these babies in until 33 weeks so we will have somewhere between 6 to 11 weeks or so in the hospital before we deliver: Hopefully!

We started being able to see the babies kick through my belly yesterday!!! It is so cool to watch them twist and turn and kick from the outside!!! All 3 are moving alot more, especially when mommy is trying to go to bed, I have actually been startled awake by one kicking! Lol! More to come soon!!!!!!

Brooklynn at 20 weeks 3 days Baby B

Benjamin at 20 weeks 3 days Baby A

Just updating 22 weeks now!

Alright so today we are 22 weeks and a day, another milestone! I have been on bedrest for 13 days now, 7 of them were in the hospital. I am able to stay on bedrest at home for the time being until we have any negative changes. I am doing well on bedrest, I just keep telling myself that whatever is best for our babies I will do! I am hoping we can make it to 33 weeks gestation which would be November 8, 2009, which means 10 more week on bedrest! Its ok I have tons of movies, books, magazines and other hobbies I can keep myself busy!

The babies:

Benjamin is our Baby A sitting pretty low in the pelvis, he moves alot now! During ultrasounds he tries to always get in the picture no matter who we are trying to look at! Lol! Camera hog already! At 20 weeks and three days Benjamin weighed a whopping 15oz!!!! (12oz is normal)

Brooklynn is our baby B and she is on mommy's right side and we call her our wild child, she moves almost constantly not sure if she ever sleeps!! Lol! She is alot like her mom, it seems she might be the one in charge! At 20 weeks and 3 days Brooklynn weighed 12oz, perfect!

Blake is our baby C and he is on mommy's left side he is the quiet one. He does move quite a bit but usually only when I am laying on my left side and Brooklynn is aquishing him. At 20 weeks and 3 days Blake weighed 13oz, perfect!

As for me health wise I am doing wonderful, no swelling or high blood pressure. The only difficult thing is moving around is alittle bit harder everday and breathing has become a little bit more difficult. Thats all for now!

A look Back on our first 20 weeks

It all started on March 25th, 2009....... This is when we started taking the low dose fertility drug called Clomid to regulate my Lutel Phase. The clomid cycle was a 5 day course, over those 5 days and about 2 weeks to follow I experienced a few side effects such as: Hot Flashes, Mood Swings and Cramping. I was extremely emotional about 2 weeks into April, this is when my lovely husband suggested that we test early. We decided to test on April 17th, 2009, this was the night of our Submarine Ball. We tested in the morning and guess what!!!!!! POSITIVE!!! For us it was a little surreal because we had tested 5 days before my cycle was due!!

We had our first ultrasound at 5 1/2 weeks along where we were suprised to see 2 sac's, they said congratulations you have TWINS! They kept looking around at my ovaries and all of a sudden a tiny little sac appeared, as the doctor panned through there was sure enough 3 sac's. However, that 3rd sac was extremely smaller than the other 2, so they said for now definately twins and we will take another look in a week. At 6 1/2 weeks we retured to the doctor where we were completely shocked to find 3 heartbeats, we now know we are expecting fraternal triplets. We continued with weekly ultrasounds until just after our 12th week, just to ensure babies were growing correctly due to our past losses, everything was going great! At 15 weeks I was sent to the Perinatologist (high risk prenatal) to continue care. We were seen every 2 weeks to make sure there was no complications going on.

Since Carl and I are impatient we did not want to wait until 20 weeks to find out the genders of our triplets, so at 15 weeks and 5 days we had a 3/4D ultrasound and found out that we were having 2 little boys and a little girl!!! We were so excited!!!!

We are now at present: On August 12th, 2009 we went in for a routine ultrasound and after 3 long hours of measuring each part of each baby we found out that we had a VERY short cervix. My cervix should be 3 to 4 cm and it measured only 1.33, they checked it 2 other times and it stayed stable at 1.38 and 1.40. So after and 8 day stay in the hospital we were sent home still on strict bedrest only able to get up and use the restroom. You know some people think it may be hard to stay put in bed but I love these babies and would do absolutley ANYTHING for them!! Our goal is 33 weeks gestation so hopefully they can get there, we also have our mini goals the first is 24 weeks that is when the babies are viable out of the womb! Wish us luck!!!
